LEX MAGICA MOIRARUM

 

            We, the founders of the cabal known henceforth as the Moirai, under the authority of the Southeastern Consilium of the United States of America and in keeping with the code of Atlantis as dictated by the Oracles, do hereby set forth the laws that shall govern the aforementioned cabal from now until such time as that body ceases to exist.  This work shall be the final authority on all disputes – as interpreted by the Present – and shall be adhered to without question by every individual claiming membership.  So shall it be.

 

PURPOSE

 

            The purpose of the Moirai shall be to explore and research the history, phenomenon, locations, and artifacts of the city of Nashville, Tennessee, which was left naked of Awakened presence in the near past.  In addition, the Moirai shall establish and maintain a solid Awakened infrastructure so that past events might not be repeated and the city will flourish.

 

LEADERSHIP

 

            The Moirai shall be lead by triumvirate, who shall be called by the titles of Past, Present, and Future.  The position of Present shall be elected once every year on June the 1st by the college of five Masters, one representing each path.  Present shall then in turn appoint the positions of Past and Future, who shall then in turn appoint the positions of Librarian and Custodian, respectively.  There shall be no limit on the number of terms, consecutive or otherwise, that a member may serve in the capacity of triumvir or any other position.  In addition, the Adamantine Arrow and the Mysterium shall be called upon to select for themselves and for the Moirai a Banner Warden and a Curator, respectively.  The method by which means these positions are to filled shall be left to the wisdom of the respective Orders.

            Outside of the titled positions, any triumvir may request the aid of any member of the Moirai with regards to those issues over which he/she has governance, and that member shall be expected to contribute to the best of his ability when so called.

            Present shall be the interpreter of this work at such times as dispute within the Moirai calls for such, and shall be the final authority otherwise.  However, any ruling or decision made by Present may be vetoed by Past and Future, but only in unanimous concert.  Present shall also be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the cities Awakened infrastructure, forging a stable influence in the city.  When an artifact or location has been deemed known and no longer a mystery by Past or Future, it shall be the responsibility of Present to allocate these resources as he sees fit.  In addition, Present shall serve as Councilor to the Southeastern Consilium and shall be expected to faithfully serve the interests of the Moirai to the best of his/her ability therein.  In that capacity, Present shall in addition be responsible for appointing a Provost of the Moirai.

            Past shall govern the formation of a library and reliquary for the artifacts expected to be found in the environs of Nashville, and shall also govern the research and cataloguing thereof for those magi yet to come.  He/She shall act as authority (deferring only to the will of Present) over all those things that are under the power of the Moirai – yet remain mysteries – until such time as they are mysteries no longer.  Past shall appoint the position of Librarian, who shall maintain not only the library that the Moirai shall build, but also all necessary records thereof.

            Future shall govern the exploration and discovery of new locations and artifacts in the environs of Nashville, and shall govern all those things that are outside of the influence of the Moirai – and remain mysteries – until such time as they are mysteries no longer.  Future shall appoint the position of Custodian, who shall protect and maintain those items and locations deemed to be cursed or dangerous to the well-being of the Moirai, Sleepers, and/or the city of Nashville.

            The Banner Warden, as appointed by the Adamantine Arrow, shall be authority (deferring to the will of the Triumvirate) over military matters when such is deemed necessary.  He shall be deferred to in this capacity by all of the Moirai when times of violence are upon them. When times are not so, he shall oversee the security of the city of Nashville and the holdings of the Moirai therein.

            The Curator, as appointed by the Mysterium, shall work in tandem with the Librarian (although without the authority of that position) for the protection and preservation of that knowledge gleaned in the course of the investigations of the Moirai.

 

VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE

 

            Should Present be determined to be corrupt, incompetent, or otherwise unable to efficiently serve in that position, he/she may be removed only by a unanimous vote by the members of the college of five Masters, excluding Present him/herself in the event that he/she claims membership in that august body.

 

MEMBERSHIP

 

            Membership shall be open to any and all loyal members of the four Atlantean Orders.  True membership shall not be granted, however, until an initiation ceremony has taken place and only with the (majority) approval of the college of five Masters.  Until such time as these conditions are met, the petitioner shall be treated as a guest of the Moirai.

            Membership is not open to members of that group known as the Free Council, and such individuals shall be treated as apostate for the duration of their stay in Nashville.

 

AFFIRMATION

 

            We, the founders of the cabal known as the Moirai, find these laws to be just and fair, and we swear to uphold them to the best of our ability.  So shall it be.
