The Shadow of Joy

For BarDiva

The line of shadow along the lady's curve
Could hide a heaven, or hell of fleshly sin
But only those, for angels have the nerve
to dance on pins. Else nothing could within.
For this is true because BarDiva's form
Is perfect in its slender shape and line
And just the sight of it could more than warm
Our hearts and souls; the Perfect now made Sign.
And thankful now am I that my own wife
Is likewise slender, shapely, and most bright
For else like men throughout this mortal life
I'd surely swoon to see BarDiva's sight.
And so I shall admire from afar
And wish her luck in chasing her own star.
