Legio III - Legio III - Legio III "Cyrenaica" was formed in November of 2003 in the Province of Nova Britannia and mainly portrays a Legionary Vexillation of the Flavian Period, Circa 68 through 100 AD. They also portray a later Romano British Auxiliary formation, Circa 450 AD (Exculcatores Iuniores Britanniciani). The origional legio III was raised by Marcus Antonius around 31BC and was stationed in Alexandria Egypt. Legio III members represent the First Century of the Second Cohort. Secondary impressions of the group are the Augustan Period through and including up to the Arthurian Period. The legion's vexillium, pictured to the left, is all embroidered by hand. It's an amazing piece of work and worth the trip to Roman Days just to see it.
Legio V - The newest, best, and only Roman legion reenactment group in Tennessee. The goal of our group is to provide a historically accurate recreation of people in the Roman empire from roughly 100 BC to 100 AD. We have legionaries, civilians, a couple barbarians, and are always looking for MORE! We are also a registered University of Tennessee Student Organization, but we have members from all over Tennessee.
Legio XIIII - We are a group of like-minded amateur historians who have a sincere interest in ancient Rome, and all the aspects involved with the Roman military machine during the first century A.D. We strive to portray the common legionnaire who marched on Rome ’s highways from the blistering deserts of the Middle East to the northern reaches of Hadrian’s Wall . Our primary goal is to depict members of Legio XIIII, known for its campaigns in Germania and in Britannia. Legio XIIII was one of the legions that participated in the suppression of the revolt led in Britannia (60AD) by the famed Iceni Queen Boudicca.
Legio XX - Your hosts. Based in Maryland, Legio XX recreates legionaries and civilians based in Britain in the mid-first century AD as well as auxiliaries and civilians from other eras. Also the home of Ascellina's Caupona, a recreation of a Pompeiian snack shop.
Legio XXIV - Founded on the Roman New Year, Kalends-Martius 2751 AUC (March 1, 1998), Legion XXIV primarily covers the Mid-First Century AD Period, but also has members portraying the Republican and Late Roman time periods, along with auxiliary soldiers, a Senator and Medico-Historian. Legion XXIV is unique in being able to field two artillery weapons, a catapulta-ballista and an onager catapult, which can each shoot up to 200 feet. The unit displays a number of helmets, armor, tools and camp equipment and performs Latin language drills. Its dress, weapons and equipment are authentic and historically correct as reasonably possible and have been assembled or obtained at the Legion's members own expense. |

NOVA ROMA is an organization dedicated to the study and restoration of ancient Roman culture. From its legendary founding in -753 to 330, when it ceased to be the center of Imperial authority, Rome set the standard and laid the foundation for our modern Western Civilization. Rome civilized the world, and we see the need for that divine mission to be kept alive. Founded 2,750 years after the Eternal City itself, NOVA ROMA seeks to bring back those golden times. But where our ancestors imposed their will through the sword and the legions, we intend the same result through the spread of knowledge and through our own virtuous example. |
