The Duchy of Cotton has seen several hardships: in the Spring of 2000 Duke Durask fled his own lands and died in Mobile, apparently starting a killing blight of Winter that lasted several months until Nought and Redcap Knight Sir Rugby confronted a strange, powerful creature. More recently a plague almost destroyed the County of Scarlet Phoenix, though it was finally dealt with in early 2001.
