So you would know the story, would you? The tale of these Shipwrecked souls, lost on this cursed island? I have given you the glimpse of them, and now I would tell you their tale, if you are willing to listen. Their arrival on the island has caused a stir upon this place once more, caused the mists to part enough so that I may see what is happening... my salvation, the salvation of all of us cursed on this island, lies in their hands... But as anyone knows, there is more to the story than just what I can see now. Stories never truly stand alone, but are twined around thousands of other tales. To understand what is happening on this island, to understand the tensions present among the Shipwrecked, you must first understand some of what has gone on before. The background of any story is as important as the story itself. |

But once you know what has gone before, their tale will be easier to understand. I will tell the tale as I have seen it, but understand that I am not everywhere, and cannot see everything. There may be more going on than has been revealed to me. And I cannot read the minds of the Shipwrecked. Their thoughts, their motives, are as hidden to me as the world of the living once was. I can only tell what I have seen, and hope the events that follow illuminate enough for us to understand the tale. There is no ending yet. We can only watch the Shipwrecked, follow them, and hope they find the way to salvation. And for those that pass beyond, we can only offer up a requiem. But if the telling of the tale is not enough to satisfy your curiosity, then come closer. Let your spirit reside within mine for a time, and I will let you see through my eyes. The island will open up before you, and you will glimpse images of the Shipwrecked, of the island, of the happenings of which I speak. Look, and understand that I speak the truth when I tell of what I see. They are our hope, these Shipwrecked. If they fail, they are lost. And so are we.
