The fort was not empty, however. A young girl named Corasi lived within, and the tale she told the Shipwrecked was not a comforting one. She had been Shipwrecked there herself, many, many years before. Those of her companions who had survived had long since been killed or taken by the dangers of this place. She knew of no way off this island, and believed a great evil kept them trapped there.
Within the Fort there walked a Spirit as well, a Spirit some had also seen walking without. He spoke to those who would listen or who talked with him, his face Marked with traces of gold. Marked, perhaps, like the Garandi and the others with Elemental-ties found themselves now Marked. He, too, had been trapped on this island a long time ago, and though he had passed on, his Spirit had not found rest. Now it tried, in what ways it could, to aid the new Shipwrecked upon this island. Elgan was his name, he told them, and he had the ability to still touch the living world, to use his magicks to aid and to heal.
For the dangers were many in this place, and it was not a peaceful rest that awaited those who died.

This is the beginning of the tale of the Shipwrecked, the bgeinning of the tale as we know it. Their presence on this island has to motion many events. We have only now to watch and observe, and see the unfolding of Destiny before us...
The Shipwrecked Awake - Meetings - Arrival at the Fort
The storm tossed the ships upon the reefs with a thunderous crash, hulls and bodies breaking upon the rocks. The dark sea claimed those who survived the reefs, except for a handful who were tossed beyond the jagged edges and upon the island that lay beyond.
These Shipwrecked were scattered about the island's shore. They awoke to find themselves alive, some with companions nearby. One awoke alone. Disoriented, the horror of the storm still fresh within their memories, they struggled to their feets and began to look for other survivors. This island was a place they did not recognize, that by their knowledge should not be. The silence of this place was eerie, and the deep darkness made it that much more forboding.
The Shipwrecked slowly began searching for others. Some found other survivors, and banded together in larger groups. A few immediately encountered some of the natives of the island: humans bearing symbols of a spider, speaking a language unknown to them. And these Spider people saw these newcomers, and set upon them, calling forth magicks of their Spider god to strike at the Shipwrecked. Battles ensued, and the Shipwrecked defended themselves against the followers of Spiders.
Tensions and suspicions immediately arose when the now-large group of Westerners encountered the first of the Garandi. Some accepted the presence of the Easterners, and some immediately drew blades. But the peace was kept, at least for now, as the Shipwrecked tried to make sense of where they were, and what had befallen them all.
How strange it was that four ships, sailing different parts of the sea, came to be taken by a storm and shipwrecked here, on an unknown island.
Slowly the Shipwrecked explored the Island, and came at last to the Fort beyond the bridge. It seemed the only safe haven here, and the followers of Spider would not venture within. But a surprise awaited the Shipwrecked, for within the Fort they found rooms prepared as if expecting their arrival, with their belongings already within - belongings lost at sea, or belongings left far at home. Belongings that should not be there. What manner of place was this? Why were they here?
And so within this fort the Shipwrecked slowly gathered, a small band of nineteen survivors.
