Aralis - The Islanders

The Spirit, Elgan, is perhaps the most mysterious of the Islanders. A Ghost, he had not been tainted by the Island's curse, but yet still wandered the land, unable to pass on to a peaceful rest. His magics are powerful, blessed of Aral, and are able to reach from the realm of the Spirits to affect the living. Who is this spirit, and what is his purpose here? Even he does not have all the answers.

The Spirit is able to see the Auras of those about him, and knows much about the Shipwrecked from what he can see within them. He has been a source of aid and guidance to those trapped on this island. He has even been blessed by Kaolan to bring back from the dead those who no other magic could save, as he is Guardian of the Gate within the Keep.

Elgan was shipwrecked on the island around five hundred years ago, with his wife - Daria of the Clan of Life - and several of her clansmen. His wife was eventually taken by Spider - and, unbeknownst to Elgan, was pregnant at the time with their son, Griffin, who was raised as one of Spider's own.

Elgan was slain by Griffin using Daria's Swords, and his spirit was taken by Spider, who now holds him captive, endlessly torturing him. The Shipwrecked search for a means of saving him.
